Big Hank and the Blue Hearts
$15

Hank and the boys are usually plugged in, loud and rocking the blues, but for our Blue Chair gigs, the amps stay at home, and the acoustic guitars come out.
Hank sings a lot of blues standards, but mostly his own tunes, and with this band, that has been together since their youthful start in Stettler, there is a lot of experienced soul exposed.
The Blue Hearts are Ken Kirkwood and Barry Nighswander on left-handed guitars, Duane Smith on Bass, Bill Hobson on drums with Hank singing.

Special Presentation
Brent Parkin
$8
ticket sales go to Heart & Stroke Foundation

Effortless guitar playing, lyrics that pull at your heart strings, all put together exactly like they should be. That is Brent Parkin in a nutshell
There aren't many guitarists and singers in the world that can match this Winnipeg-based musician, who wows us every time he graces our little juke joint.
Thanks to the folks at Raceweek who brought Brent to Edmonton this week, and for donating all the proceeds of tonight's show to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
This performance is worthy of a big weekend gig, so don't let this special Wednesday slip through the cracks.

Doug Andrew
and the Circus in Flames

$10

Doug Andrew describes his music as Sheet Metal Country: "It bangs and rattles and booms, generally making a fair amount of noise, but it can also be light and quiet”.

Their roots firmly in traditional country, folk, and blues, and with Andrew's songs at its heart, this group has a “unique but rooted musical vision” (Vue Weekly).

Doug is a regular in the Front Porch Revu, and was recently featured along with such luminaries as Blue Rodeo and Gordon Lightfoot on the CD “The Gift: A Tribute To Ian Tyson”. He was honoured to welcome legendary steel guitarist Buddy Cage (Bob Dylan’s Blood On The Tracks) onto his version of the Tyson classic, Someday Soon, which the Toronto Star chose as the “Top Track”.

Range Road 251
$10

Range Road 251 is fronted by sultry singer/guitarist Sue Fitzsimmons. Terry Knutson of Raisin’ Cain fame joins on guitar and vocals. Completed by Jack Harrow who plays a steady bass and Taylor Reese on drums.
When describing Range Road 251, someone recently observed, “Sue, your music used to be pretty, but now it has funk and guts”.  From quiet acoustic to upbeat electric, the band plays original tunes that travel from straight ahead country to the edges of pop/funk.
